In addition to our regular monthly presentations, Okinawa JALT
sponsors a number of special projects (this website being one of them). We have also established
mailing lists, both email and regular mail to keep members informed about our meetings and other
activities. We also have online discussion groups
for both English and
Japanese speakers.
One of our recent special projects was the 2002 Power of the Pen essay contest for high
school students (click the [POP] button above for details).

We also periodically sponsor local conferences on language learning and language teaching issues,
as well as book fairs, which offer the local community the opportunity to view the latest language teaching materials
available from major publishers.
Okinawa JALT strives to provide educational stimulation and professional growth
opportunities to our members. If you are interested in helping with any of these projects, please contact
